Zack DeMeola

Zack DeMeola is senior director of strategic initiatives at LSAC, where he focuses on creating more innovative and equitable ways to educate and train lawyers. Zack is also committed to promoting innovation in the legal profession and addressing the access to justice crisis as a member of the Governing Council of the ABA Center for Innovation. Before joining LSAC, Zack was the director of legal education and the legal profession at the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System (IAALS), a national, independent research center at the University of Denver. At IAALS, he led the Foundations for Practice project, the most comprehensive study to date of the skills, competencies, and characteristics new lawyers need, and the Unlocking Legal Regulation Project, where he directed a team of researchers and lawyers to promote a regulatory system that meets the demands of everyday people. He is a co-founder of Access to Justice Ventures, which educates legal professionals, legislators, and the public about the interplay between regulatory reform, legal innovation, and access to justice.
